“Students have always told us how much they loved their NHD experience and how it has changed their life, both in their academics and their careers. History not only teaches students about the stories of our past, but is vital to creating a generation of young people who can apply these lessons to the future.”

“National History Day changed my classroom. It allowed me to make my students researchers, developers, thinkers, and experts. I have taken students into archives to hold documents that most people have never seen.  I have watched students shake hands with their heroes, people like James Meredith. I have realized that to be an effective teacher means I must make history matter to students who would otherwise not care. The vehicle that has forever influenced my pedagogy is National History Day. I believe that I am a better teacher because of the National History Day program.”
